I recently installed b6 damptronic struts on my golf r. Car still has too much body roll for my liking. What would be a good lowering spring that will reduce body roll but have the least drop as the roads where I live are terrible and im pretty content with the stock ride height.
I know that eibach pro kit is highly recommended but with the front spring rate being lower than oem springs i dont see how that will reduce roll.

I can’t compare my b6 damptronics with stock springs because I put them on with my VWR springs at the same time. I do like the pair together though, it’s not too low and the VWR spring are DCC compliant.

I agree with the anti-roll bar comments. I have the H&R front and rear installed for the past 3 years (first the rear then the front). They really reduced body roll and made the ride much more responsive. Contrary to common comments, I think both are needed and not just the rear.

I had Bilstein B6 damptronics and Eibach Pro Kit springs put on 2 weeks ago, and there's even further reduction in body roll with a vast improvement in the ride quality. The drop is minimal and almost unnoticeable.

The car is beyond fun to push now and is somehow more comfortable than stock.

I'm installing B6 DCC's with Eibach springs this weekend--is it necessary, or recommended, to trim front and rear bump stops to compensate for the reduction in travel?

So I installed the B6 shocks today. Did the OBD11 ‘adapting with deflected wheels’ and took the car for a spin. So far it’s a bit firmer overall and not a great deal of distinction between modes. I’ll be getting a mountain drive in this coming weekend so will have a better feel for it all after that. I did trim about 5mm off the front bumpers and 10mm off the rears. I currently have my front Whiteline ARB on the min setting-we’ll see how it handles big sweepers in the mountains, which is where I feel the car has had too much roll. I also have Eurocode front chassis brace, Eurosport upper mounts for neg camber and steel LCA’s with solid rubber bushings.

Can I ask why you trimmed the bump stops?

I think the instructions for the Eibachs say you should cut the bump stops do they not?

I have seen that somewhere once.

I looked around and it seems the instructions vary from Eibach depending on the application. I think trimming makes sense, though.

I started thinking about this more and noticed over the past couple of weeks that I would get a clunk from the rear every now and then at low speed turns going over certain bumps. I got concerned about maybe an improper install. Everything was replaced during the install so it didn't make a lot of sense.

I finally did the DCC re-calibration today and got to do some driving (posted my before/after values here: https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-golf-r-today.6926800/post-115990915) and that clunking has resolved. I wonder if I was sitting closer to the bump stops prior to re-calibration and now the system knows that the car's suspension travel is different?

Nonetheless, I'm still really happy with the springs/dampers and the re-calibration made things even smoother. What a fascinating car this continues to be!
