Battery Error Code

I own a 2015 GTI SE with a DSG. While driving I received an “Error: 12V battery not charging” message, so I decided to replace the battery.

The replacement battery is an H6 AGM Duralast Platinum battery, which installed without issue. Unfortunately, the car is still throwing the error message.

Is this because I didn’t use an OCBD11 or other similar tool? Is this a code error that I can the dealership fix without having to buy a new battery?

To check your alternator, just test your battery with a voltmeter:

Do the battery adaptation.

Hmm sounds like it could be the alternator ... i didnt do adaptation for my previous battery and it didnt throw such error.

I wouldn't feel bad about buying a new battery if it is your alternator. At the age it was you were most likely due for a replacement. Time for an alternator, but get it tested before replacing.
