Back seat exhaust

Small fun fact. On my last 2015 and on my 2019, the stock exhaust sound enters the cabin a little better and provides a mellow sound when the back seat is folded flat. Hey, every little bit!

Yep. Foam is a good noise insulator. Pull the seats entirely sometime and it can be heard quite well.

I noticed this on my 2006 MKV GTI as well. Probably almost doubled the noise you could hear in the cabin. Made for some fun, spirited drives.

I have a sheet of rigid fiberglass below my trunk floor, the sound of my exhaust is almost nonexistent.

The rear seats silence the exhaust and add extra weight. I left mine behind in the dealer lot

Trimmed it to size by scoring it with a razor.

i don't know about hearing it but don't use recirculate for the ventilation system.
