Automatic headlight control

Recently I’ve been getting an error message saying automatic headlight control. I’ve tried resetting this through Carista and also unplugging the battery to see if this resets anything. Error message is still on. The automatic wipers seem not to be functioning correctly and when I unlock the car in the dark the lights don’t activate until I start the ignition. Would this just be the sensor behind the rear view mirror or is it something else. Thanks for any input

You did not provide enough info to help. It could be a number of things. From a fuse being out to bad coding on module 9, 19, 55 or 4B depending on your setup. At the very lest post up your model year and types of head lights you have.

Mk7 golf gti pp 2013. I believe they are just the standard lights

As you have carista why have you not scanned for fault codes?? When you have, post the codes you get here.?

Faulty Rain/Light sensor I believe.

Would this issue be fixed if I buy a replacement sensor and just swap it out

I’ve been down to vw this morning and they have quoted £217 for a new sensor and £65 to diagnose the actual problem ?
