auto stop start not working

power consumption is high. I turn everything off but it still says the same. eg, fan, heaters etc. Just the automatic side lights are on as per car default

Then I agree with @golfdave - the battery has deteriorated too far.

I had this exact error message with the auto stop/start in my GTI when it was ~6 months old. If I drove for 50-100km in one go, the warning would disappear, and stop/start would work again. Until the next day, anyway...

Ended up being a dead cell in the battery.

i thought i had updated this, anyway from the slight niggle of stop start, the car wouldnt even start needless to say a new battery was got and all is well now, i even got a more powerful one too. It was the original oem battery. still though only 5yrs old

Actually, that's pretty good. I feel like a lot of us around here got maybe 2 or 3 years out of ours haha.
