Happened to me twice recently DSG 1.4 MK 7 auto. Last time I was parked on a hill facing downwards very tight space in front, put in R car rolled forward applied foot brake, each time I released the foot brake it rolled a bit again nearer and nearer to an expensive Porsche in front. I was afraid to boot it in reverse in case the darn thing shot forward or hurtled back into the car behind!
Used the foot brake like a hand brake while reversing till I was clear. Not at all confident in tight spaces now. I can imagine the comments if I hit it "another stupid pensioner crashes his automatic, hit the wrong pedal"
Any ideas please?
