For you guys asking about hardware, I have an interactive parts list generator here. Not 100% vetted across various model years, but you should be able to search by PN for your particular application to at least find the diagram and confirm fitment:

For a subframe swap you'll want the following stuff (obviously only get the motor mount bolts for your specific application):

I did an 8Y S3 subframe swap onto my 19 GTI over winter. I used an 034 subframe alignment collar kit... only because I didn't want to buy the stupid little aluminum one time use anti-slip bits.

When I had the two subframes side by side, I could not find any measurable differences between it and the old one.

Dropped my steel subframe and installed a used A3/S3 aluminum subframe....not for weight lost or rigidity but for rust prevention LOL. I also installed $30 chinese deadset kit. Did it all on my garage floor, was pretty easy, thanks for this thread for replacement bolts. Alignment results below (neg camber is due to CSS knuckles). While I was in there I installed an H&R front swaybar.

Looking to do this upgrade to my '17, per another post there's these 7 items -

  • subframe 5Q0199369G (x1)
  • washers WHT006844 (x2)
  • bolts N10785401 (x4)
I was considering the TyrolSport Deadset kit which I think would negate the requirement of those four (4) bolts from above. Could someone confirm the TyrolSport ones are sufficient for the Audi subframe on the MK7? I suspect the washers still recommended (they're <$10 regardless)

I have the TyrolSport deadset kit + aluminum subframe + washers.

Keep in mind you need different bolts for the control arms. They're longer on the aluminum subframe.

Thanks guys! @DerHase , appreciate the spreadsheet as well. So we're looking at

- 1 x Subframe (5Q0-199-369-G)
- 1 x Tyrolsport Deadset (TSDSKVW7)
- 2 x Washers (WHT-006-844)
- 4 x LCA Bolts (N-106-959-01)

technically i think some of the other hardware is one-time use as well. sway bar/steering rack bolts, plus the dogbone mount bolts.

As @scrllock said, EVERYTHING you touch is TTY.

Get the 4 sway bar bracket bolts. Get a couple sway bar end links nuts (however I reuse the shit out of those with no issues), and you'll need the two steering rack bolts. And the (6) nuts for LCA to ball joint. And all the dog bone mount bolts (3). Those are trans dependent, and I'm not sure if the DQ381 is different than DQ250. If you look those up and they're different, let me know and I'll update the spreadsheet.

I think that's it. Look at the spreadsheet. I have a rough guide for what is needed when X part is being replaced.
