I have used Armorall brake dust repellant in the past and found it effective! It is applied to cold wheels, left for a few minutes and reapplied once more. Allow it to dry and it forms a barrier and prevents dust from sticking on the alloys. This makes the wheels easier to keep clean.

I don't touch anything that says Armor All on it. Most of the time just wiping the wheels off with a microfiber cloth after washing is enough.

I need something! I'm tired of my wheels looking brown. The shiny black paint on the Nogaros show brake dust after 20 miles.

I use the Armor All product frequently and it works very well. It is cheap too. I do not use it on the VW as mine doesn't dust enough to warrant it but I do use it on my Alfa Romeo and it really helps with that car's rims.

Coming from the same company that says they now have waterless wash ass wipes to wipe your whoooooole car off with...smh. Avoid that brand, for your wheel's sake.

If you want to repel brake dust, try a modern silica spray sealant. I use CarPro Hydro2 lite on my wheels, so easy to apply. Spray, dwell for 10 seconds, thoroughly rinse. Done.

This is most likely not silica based, and right now anything less on a wheel doesn't hold up as well. That's a brutal environment. Wax based wheel sealants need refreshed bi-monthly it seems, less if you use aggressive wheel cleaning methods.

Try to use acid-free wheel cleaners so as not to hurt whatever protection method you choose. Good luck.

NO cleaner/wax will prevent our wheels turning brown after a few miles or days due to our brake pads. My Opti-Coated wheels last 4-5 days (front wheels) and 14-15 days (rear wheels) before they turn brown.
