I ordered a wheel from TAW - no carbon (cant stand low quality carbon wet layup)

Basically like the wheel shown before but with a red leather center stripe. Will report when it comes in.

Coming from my B9 S5 the wheel on the stock GTI/R is a huge weak point - its too thin! these upgraded wheels are a good option, easy to sell later.

When people are replacing their wheels are they replacing the retaining screw? I am not too worried about re-using just wanted to hear other's experience.

The new screw is cheap, I wish I had seen that I needed it before my wheel arrived...

Got a quote from Royal. It's pretty reasonable at $280 even shipping to the UK and back. Looking at perf leather on the sides like yours and Alcantara on top/bottom. If I go forward I'll ship my wheel as my car sits over the winter.

TAW Customs. Slightly more expensive than the run of the mill China wheels, but these are high quality and they are guaranteed OEM cores, not knock offs like the others.

No plastic or carbon fiber on mine...

Dude, this is like a flawless wheel for the GTI. Wish it came stock with it. Reminds me of the Mk6 except this one looks thicker... Mind providing the specs you entered to build the quote?
