No, I coded it myself after having the dealer remove component protection. But I have used that retrofit company before, they know what they are doing.
Ask them if their wheels are certified. I'll wait

(hint: I know the owner personally, used to work on her car before she started that biz)

The difference is the core. Yes I know my wheel was assembled in China too, but using an OEM core instead of whatever junk the other guys use makes a difference. Look at the Urotining picture, see how the top of the wheel is flat? MK7's don't have a flat top wheel.

You get what you pay for.
That was an Option I selected.

I'm pretty sure the flat top is a design choice... It's not like Urotuning got a batch of warped wheels and was like... yeah that looks good to send out lol

Ah I did not know that. Either way, I’m happy with my purchase. People buy these wheels because they are used every time they drive, I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t have any problems with mine so I happily paid a premium for it. If you can pay less and be happy with it then that’s a win too.

"how did you get that wheel so cheap?"

It's all the same chinesium. Don't fool yourself into thinking paying more gets more quality.

That's my feelings as well. They probably take your custom order, and send it off to the same places you can order from yourself on AliExpress. Get it in, ship it off to you, and pocket $300 for doing nothing.

I got lucky, my core is Indeed Oem and I didn’t purchase from TAW. I think I paid like 650 without the black trim piece(that was 120 alone... couldn’t find for much less)

Mine is from TAW, looks good feels good, all good for me. Their customer service treated me well. I had a small issue with the first wheel they sent me, one of those things isn't super noticeable but once seen cannot be unseen, sent the wheel back and they replaced it.

What about the OEM Clubsport wheel in Alcantara. Looks fantastic + OEM quality. It doesn't look like an add on, which is probably one of its greatest selling points.

Is the Clubsport wheel any thicker? I'm on the fence between OEM/Clubsport or Alcantara TAW custom but I'd like something a bit thicker than stock and it appears that the Clubsport isn't any thicker.

I'm assuming it has to do with the top center line being about 4-5° off center to the right?

On my first wheel, yes. The replacement one is as centered as anyone is likely to get. If I take a picture at the slightest angle it looks off center. The other thing that makes it difficult to judge is trying to check for "center" based on the dashboard, which isn't straight relative to the wheel. Only way to really judge it is with the wheel removed, sitting on table. The first wheel had the lines centered on the circumference but the lines weren't straight, like this...

I work at an aircraft maintenance facility and we have an interior refurb department. When I got the replacement I knew my eyes would play tricks on me and I had a few different people nspect and measure to see if it was centered, haha. It also passed my wife's "something is wrong with that" test. I trust here eyes way more than mine.

Nope. As I said, if you're not straight on it's hard to get a picture that looks straight. I'm not sure I still have any pictures of the first one.
