From 4500rpm to 6500 rpm stage 1 add 50-75 ftlbs of torque and at 6500rpm that is almost 100whp. First gear is boost limited to 30psi(abs pressure) across rpm not full boostto limit wheel spin. and you see the full torque on 2nd gear starting at shift point start at 4500rpm. The stock boost level is so low compare to what it's capable of. See the graph from APR. Basically nothing stock that I regularly see on street can beats this type of torque on a 3000lb car.100 crank. Puts it on par with a stock Corolla GR.. Add DSG.
GR corolla losing gap widens on 3rd gear because slightly taller gearing and slightly lower torque. GRC with a tune will be tie or faster. Basically APR stage 1 GatI DSG runs 13.1 quarter at 110mph E.T. any car have a lower trap speed will be slower and GRC traps 105 so makes sense I pull 1 car ahead on 3rd gear at 75mph. I won't call dyno slip magazine racing. It's comparing data and it makes senseMagazine Racing.. love it.
Dude.. we are talking about 1 race. This isn't something where we have run 10 thousand times and averaged. Close enough cars, DSG vs manual.. once......GR corolla losing gap widens on 3rd gear because slightly taller gearing and slightly lower torque. GRC with a tune will be tie or faster. Nothing went wrong this race and nothing GR's spec or test data wise show it would beat a stage 1 GTI. Say even if I sleped on launch and loses, stage 1 GTI is still faster than stock GRC. I just don't see how a stock GRC can beat the GTI. Especially considering GRC can't go over 85mph without voiding warranty.Dude.. we are talking about 1 race. I don't even know what we are arguing about at this point. I've ridden in a corolla GR.. it's really not fast. I think that's what you're saying?Nothing went wrong this race and nothing GR's spec or test data wise show it would beat a stage 1 GTI. Stock vs stock depends wich model but Yes The GRC would be faster. The GRC 1/4 mile 13.5@102 But this is a DSG automatic version. The manual is alot slower more like 14.6@97.3. Mk7 GTI DSG 14.5-14.2 @100-99 or MK8 GTI 13.6-13.8@105. Yes mk8 traps same but slightly slower bc is more heavy compare a 3 cylinder . But stage 1 MK7 GTI DSG 13.1@110 but stage 1 GR toyota dsg 13.3@107. You can see the GR yaris tuned is not sheding much bc the yaris stock turbos are almost max out in fact. Stage 2 mk 7 GTi 12.5@115 vs stage 2 yaris GR 12.9-13.0@109Nothing went wrong this race and nothing GR's spec or test data wise show it would beat a stage 1 GTI.
