Rs seem to post pretty mediocre numbers on APR's software with this turbo- GTI/GLI consistently dyno at 400/400 on stock fueling

His project seems to be sponsored by APR, so I'd imagine he sticks with their software, but a downpipe and custom tune would go such a long way
When it first released, the GTIs had an issue where they were not making advertised power and owners were complaining about it. Then APR went in and did a revision/took out some of the protections they put into the tune and now it's a fairly reliable output for GTIs.

APR never did this for us Rs with fueling as they thought they never needed to. @Arin@APR, perhaps APR can revise our fueling tunes now? I've got an Autotech HPFP in mine as I couldn't justify paying $1,000 for the APR pump and the tune feels quite sluggish, even more so than when I was on stock fueling.

I've been looking at EQT's latest dyno graph of their revised Stage 1+ tunes for Mk7/Mk7.5 Rs and they're a hair short of a stock fueling DTR6054 with a much better torque curve. If their revised Stage 2 numbers look promising, I'm debating ditching my DTR and going back to an IS38.

Tune it yourself.

Seriously though, self tune or heck, even have EQT tune your DTR. Either way you'll be far happier. Plenty of folks making jam with this turbo just not on the APR software (at least in terms of .:R/S3). You have solid hardware strangled by that software

Would be cool though if APR used the exposure from Legit Street to help launch an updated tune that show's what the hardware is capable of @Arin@APR . If this isn't in the cards already it really should be

I'm looking into MPI options and 5-bar sensors. Unsure if I should leave my Walbro 450 LPFP in or opt for a brushless LPFP.

I mean, pretty early to n it was known that the DTR wasn’t a solid path for anybody in an IS38 already. The juice just wasn’t worth the squeeze.

If they marketed it strictly to IS20 users and had the fueling for IS20 out of the box? Would have been great.

The post-launch support is non existent. Pretty sure Arin stopped watching this thread a long time ago.

It would be nice if they had a V2 49-state legal tune that's slightly richer *ahem.* I'm registered in a non-smog county, so I'm "compliant." But accessport + custom tune for flex + dyno time (I'm not doing 130mph pulls at 3am here) + MPI/pumps, would more than double the cost (probably 3x) what I've already got into it...

finally got around installing AWE catted DP and an intercooler on the car. Flashed the 93 tune and it runs great, being fully bolted on minus fueling. APR Valved exhaust, M52/R600 intake, Ruthenium plugs, OEM RS3 coils, Ground kit, No CEL. Having the flashing tool at home makes it convenient to switch back and forth. I recently asked APR to see if they have the full send tune for my R, would be nice to flash that.

Iirc, the full-send tune was for FWD applications to take off the boost-by-gear. Your best bet is to put the HPFP/LPFP option in. R owner, asked about the full-send tune when I went, APR didn't have it. I learned about what it was after the fact.

Full send was a tune for AWD cars since they can take all of the power off the line. It could be used on FWD but obviously would be traction limited.

Was it? When I asked APR, they didn't have anything for my car at the time, months after release.
