Anyone fitted a highline reversing camera?

Do I need to code it again in vcds and how must I code it in vcds ?

When fitting the highline RVC, don't tell 5F it has an RVC in byte 19 - instead, go into adaptations and mark "BAP VPS" as activated, and "BAP VPS msg bus" as "comfort data bus".

I now have all the modes I'm supposed to have.

Hi,


I have currently also retrofitted a Highline camera (5Q0 980 568 B).
However when I unmark byte 19 in 5F I lost my OPS display.
The sensors will beep but not show in the screen. When I click on the park button it will enable the park sensors but not showing on the screen either. The camera works when I shift the car in reverse (with moving lines).

The sensors will work again when I enable Camera Low installed in 5F.



What I have done:

  • BAP_VPS enabled
  • BAP_VPS_MSG_BUS to comfort data bus
  • Park assist > Bit 4-5 to 10 Camea type: Rear View Camera installed.
  • Gateway > mark 6C Rear View Camera
I have a Discovery Pro MIB 1



I have 2 errors on the camera (6C):

  • U1121 00 [009] - Missing message
  • No Basic Setting

Do you have any idea?

Strange I had 6 colors. Do they come with a manual?


I had:
Red: 12V
Black: -


Orange: Can High
Brown: Can Low


Black: Pin 12 of the blue subconnector
White: Pin 6 of the blue subconnector

You shouldn't have needed to mark it in the gateway; it should have come up automatically.

IWMTom, do you still think the highline camera isn't worth it over the lowline? We are getting my wife a GLI soon. Been shopping them and I didn't realize how nice it is to have a reverse cam.

If I go highline I'm going to order the same kid you did from car-systems. It seems the trouble in finding an actual highline camera plus the right harness isn't worth it.

I've since told the car it has a lowline camera instead of a highline camera and done away with the "modes" as the front parking sensors wouldn't work properly in highline setting.

It's good for the moving guidelines, but unless you get this calibrated (not an easy job) then it's pretty useless. Stick with the lowline.

Got it... I have no parking sensors. I'm not sure my dealer would calibrate anyway.
