How far towards the rear seat does the damage go?

Looks like the ledge that the outer door seal seats against is pushed in 1/4" around where the gash is, but otherwise no damage toward the seat. The door also shuts perfectly and no gap changes are seen anywhere beyond a few inches of the gash area.

Should I be concerned with water getting into that gash and accumulating in the rocker panel, or are there internal drains?

Those $48/hr numbers thrown out earlier are laughable. Hourly rates are way more than that in most places.

yeah most places around me charge 100+/hr but those aren't specifically body shops. But still probably around that if not more per hour

Probably just under $5000. I had my front bumper repaired from very minor accident and that was $1000. This is WAAAAY worse. $5000 final offer.
