I think the lag fix is worth the price of switching. As it is now, if I really want to mash the throttle, I have to be over 3500 RPMs or get on it from 1st gear, which is useless with all the wheelspin. It cuts down on the opportunities to even use the power. It's basically all or nothing.
On a side note, I have another question: IIRC, the normal procedure is to plug a battery charger to the car during reflash, in case the battery dies and bricks the ECU.
I don't have one but do have a Jump N Carry. Would that work?

Yes it would work. It says in the description "built in automatic charger".
