Alta Performance's Tow Hook License Plate Mounts In Stock!!

Aristocrat Autosport

Buena Park, CA

Alta Performance's License Plate Tow Hook Mounts for MK7 Golf/GTI/R are now available at Aristocrat Autosport! This tow hook allows you to run a front license plate in the OEM front tow hook location, saving you the need to drill any holes in the bumper. With a shape that is contoured to the bumper, there is an even amount of space on either sides of the bumper for easy cleaning; included spacers allow you to move the plate frame farther forward if you choose to do so.

The plate holder is made from laser-cut plate aluminum which is folded in a press break to remove flex, then powder coated with a wrinkle finish for durability. The tow hook adapter screw is CNC machined and anodized black for low weight and corrosion resistance.

This tow hook is guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a 60 month (5 year) period from the date of purchase. Please note that this tow hook will not work with the MK7 Jetta/GLI as the tow hook for that car is threaded in the opposite direction.

Price - $65 Shipped in the 48 U.S. states. PM to set up an order; Will call pickup is available for Southern California customers at our Buena Park facility.

Installation guide by Aristocrat Autosport

1. You will need the following tools:

  • 21mm socket
  • 16mm socket
  • Torque wrench

1. Locate and remove the front tow hook cover on the bumper. Remove it carefully so you do not damage the paint.

2. Open the included packet of anti-sieze and place it evenly on the threaded areas of the tow hook adapter, then install the adapter into the tow hook hole.

3. Using the 21mm socket, tighten the adapter to 50 lb-ft.

4. Take the plate holder and install it to the tip of the adapter by using the large black bolt and at least one washer. The washer should be sandwiched inbetween the adapter and the plate holder; the Alta logo on the plate holder should be facing towards the bumper. You can adjust the distance of the plate holder by adding or removing the included washers (please note you must use at least one). In our photo, we used three washers to make it easier to fit a microfiber behind the plate holder.

5. Hand tighten the bolt and adjust the position of the plate holder so that it is straight. Once you are happy with the orientation of the plate older, use the 16mm socket and tighten it down to 30 lb-ft.

6. Install your license plate into the plate holder's four holes with the included allen wrench. Hand tighten these bolts!

7. After 2-3 days of driving, check the tightness of all the bolts, and re-tighten if necessary.
