True but wish it was sold in the USA probably would be a slow seller.
Not sure the price of the Audi badge is worth the extra $ over the GOLF R.

An RS3 hatchback could be a contender. It's not like they sell a lot of the sedan versions here.

Here in Canada we get the Mercedes AMG A35 both in sedan and hatch versions, along with the AMG CLA35. The hatch definitely seems to be out selling the other two - more so on the bottom end (A250).
So maybe us Canadians can prove we want hatchs here in North America.

That said, I don't see myself grabbing a MK8 R anymore, I think I am going to comply with VAG and move up to the S3 / RS3 to replace my R, if that happens. Interesting to know if the S3 gets the rear diff, but I am certain the RS3 will get it

The new S3 is about 100 bucks cheaper than the MK8 R in Swedish configurators but with less and more expensive options. 10 hp less to so might still have the IS38 and no talk about that new torque vectoring rear end the MK8 R gets.
