All Around Rotors And Pads Upgrade Suggestions

I’m very happy with my Zimmermann blank rotors with EBC YellowStuffs as a daily driver and even beginner track pad. The pads produce less dust than the stock ones and bite very well. The rotors pair very well with Ferodo DS2500 track pads too and I’m still using them despite tracking them last year. If you’re just daily driving, look into the RedStuff as they produce less dust.

If you're in the US, and planning to keep the car for a while, I agree with going with FCPEuro.

Brembo high-carbons are $56 each for an R or PP front rotor at RockAuto, how cheap are you looking to go? AFAIK, the ATE and Zimmermann rotors FCPEuro has listed as factory replacements for the R (GTI might be different) are high-carbon.

That's not too bad, I didn't realize they were high carbon. I'm assuming these are the part numbers ( front : 09C30611 Rear: 09A20011 ). Thanks for your input.

The Centric High Carbon Cryo-treated 125 rotors have lasted me for close to 80k miles, I had to double-check that. I had them cut around 40k miles and I have the RS3 brake ducts added for cooling. Fronts 125.33098CRY, Rears 125.33131CRY - Standard brake rotors, non-PP. 90% Daily driving
All the slotted, dimpled, drilled rotor options are going to need to be replaced sooner. Never heard of any lasting that long. OEMs only lasted me about 30k miles before they were totally warped.

I ran drilled and slotted upfront with EBC red stuff on the 312mm rotors. Had 10k miles on them when I switched to Macan brakes. Pads had around 80% life left

I had the zimmerman mk6 rotors and they warped fairly bad. I did have about 4 track days on them though, and the traction control was kicking on making them run hot

Oh yes. Absolutely they are. Definitely a great upgrade and more then enough stopping power for stage 1 and stage 2 cars.
