Hey team, how would 245/35R19 Michelin PS4S mounted on 19x8.5 +45 Pretoria's fit on a stock MK7R? Any rubbing?

Not really looking to lower it, if I do, it'll be an 1" drop. May look at rear spacer as well to fill the guard. The wifey will be driving it most of the time.

I like the idea of a taller sidewall, and more 'grip' for the wife and our newborn lol. Help me sell it in.

Finally got my wheel and tire package on the car. Also found a cheap set of golf r springs.

Does anyone run or know if 19 x 8.5 et38 will fit with 245 35 19 ? On a golf r

Im running 234 35 19s now but has some stretch. Would like to fit 245 but unsure if it will rub its also lowered 20mm with 5mm spacers on the rear.

Given you're lowered it's likely to rub. Some people with similar specs +45 are lowered and they don't rub, some do. Safest bet is always stock.
If you're running a 5mm spacer at the back you're real wheels will be +33 so more poke and potentially more rubbing.

My fitment is 245/45/17 on +42 TrakLites
With STX coilovers

My issue is my front tires are rubbing bad on the bumper and fender screw. Has anyone cut that and been fine? It’s actually starting to pull my fender. My fenders are also rolled.

Yes it can be trimmed down some, just try to maintain the tab enough to keep the t25 holding the fender to the bumper or you’ll have to deal with that section sitting loose n free. (Mine is completely removed cause I’m on air and wanted flush fit)

Your real issue is that you need a little extra -camber and stiffer suspension of you want to run that low and aggressive fitment.

Side note - your car looks soo good with that stance, fitment, meats, colors!!!

I haven't looked at my fender/bumper area since my car don't rub... but couldn't that be pushed out slightly with a fender roller to a point that it wouldn't rub? I don't think it would look too out of place as long as the fender/bumper align. I had that issue with the rear tire on my GTO and I pushed the edge a little with the roller and it cleared.

I'm 245/45/17 +42,. On Air suspension. Front camber -1.6, rear -2 and everything was nice and flush. I didnt remove the fender screw at first cause everything seemed fine, until a few weeks I notice a tiny point starting to show on the fender, I immediately removed the Fender screw and so far it hasn't got any worse. It happened from airing out the car it would lay on the wheels pushing the fender screw making it slightly poke at the fender. But I would start by removing the fender screw, and checking how much negative camber you have.

No, its an actually horizontal flange/mount/edge. The way part protrudes so much and how our cars front geometry increases caster as it goes down that area become the hindrance way before the rest of the fender too. My stock fenders were fully rolled (can’t really pull the fronts due to the way it mounts) and in the end without cutting them up rolling wouldn't have been all that necessary

When I was still on stock fenders I ended up trimming the whole front bumper edge as well as hacking the mount and fender up and in the end I had to run -5.2 camber Just to clear 235/225s 😂 cause I wanted an aggressive fit. Since the bumper and mount was so cut up when I got the wide fenders I ended up still having to cut those up too since the bumper no longer mounted there.

This is how it was till I maxed out the - camber on the old set up, but keep in mind my final offset with the wheels and ball joint extenders was something around +10 on a 8.5 lol.
Once cutting all the meat off the mount and bumper it easily gets pushed out.

In These pics you can see how much I had to cut out of the glass fenders since the bumper and mount was so cut up, but gain lots of room cause in the pass. picture I couldn’t even full air out with those reasonable camber settings.

As you can see In these pics - In the end even with the wider fenders the fender to bumper location still becomes the limit as with this fit (265/35 on a 8.5 at +35et) the tires are touching the front of the wheel openings while have LOTS of room near the top and back. If the car didn’t increase caster as it went down I’m sure that would fix it.
