Be careful going to a 35 sidewall tire, unless the roads there are smooth as glass. Im on 40's and crappy roads are brutal on that thin of a sidewall. 35's would be even worse.

18x8.5 ET45 isn't flush. It might look flush at stock height, but when it's lowered, isn't flush.
I've recommended many people with 18x8.5 ET35 with 235 Michelin tires, that are perfectly flush fitment. I'm currently running 245/35/19 on 19x9 ET45. I'm planning on putting 3mm front and 5mm rear spacers to push them out. I don't rub fender with my setup. I'm rubbing fender liner when doing 95mph plus hitting a big freeway dip. My favorite wheel fitment is 19x9 ET42 with 245 or 255's.
18x9 ET38-42 with 245/255 tires should be solid. From the photos of your car, you aren't that low. I'd assume given that same height, you shouldn't have any issues with 245 or 255's.
Remember 255/35/18 has same sidewall as a 225/40/18. 245/40/18 is quite a bit more sidewall than 255/35/18.

Thanks for the detailed response, in my case my enkei’s and 6mm spacers equals et39 I’m going to install 245/40/18 Michelin mp4s tomorrow at my current height will I have to install roll correction ball joints? I’m currently running kw v1’s or should I just roll my fenders? Thanks

Actually, I apologize. I was thinking you had a MK8. Not MK7.
Be careful with that 18x8.5 ET35 fitment. I tried that initially and couldnt get the front tires to tuck under the fender. Went to a 18x8 ET35 and just barely got them to tuck. Did it rub? It sure did, and bad. 225 tire BTW.

Yeah, I'm not sure. Would fit fine on MK8.
This would be a no, as stated above. I am running stock height right now with MPS4S 244/40/18 on 18x8.5 et 42 and it rubs slightly on hard bumps. I'm lowering it soon with H&R OE Springs and adding Euro-Sport pucks.

Picked up some RPF1's (18x9 +35mm). Considering pairing them with Firestone Indy's. Would I be more prone to rub with 235, as opposed to 225? Or does it matter since it's a 9" wheel?
