Im guessing thats an alltrack with the irs
Im guessing thats an alltrack with the irs
Thanks! I still think I like the 17’s better, looks wise.. the 235’s also look so small compared to the 255’s!
Really trying to decide between 245/40r18 and 255/35r18 for my wheels/tires. I feel like 245 is probably less likely to rub, but I'm also more than willing to run some camber - provided the camber wear isn't nuts.
stock stance or lowered ?255/35/18 is what I run at +45, 245/40 is very close to stock size and will work fine. I have seen up to a 265/30/19 work at +50 but there is a small amount of rub in the front even with coils
I am dropped on VW OEM Golf drop springs. It is only dropped about 1.25 to 1.5 inches over stock, so far it hasn’t done any damage to the stock struts but I have lost two upper left front strut mounts and one upper right front that I just changed yesterday. I am stock alignment as well. This car has a lot of room for tire and much better option than my previous mk5 and 6.stock stance or lowered ?
I think they will be very close but will fit. The front will be the closest but the rear is fineI'm still trying to figure out if 245/40/18 will rub with the H&R sports I got. Im just waiting for tirerack to have the RS05's back in stock (18x8.5 +42) as of now im going with the safe option which is the Indy 500's 235/40/18
Not an Alltrack, just a base model Golf Sportwagen 4motion, but yes, multi link independent rear suspension.Im guessing thats an alltrack with the irs

Ok cool. It's also a 200 dollar price difference between the two, so I might stick to 245s.
From what I have read here that will slightly rub and you will need to do the screw mod. No rubbing inside, some had issues with the passenger rear depending on how well the liner is installed. But this are rare cases.I'm still trying to figure out if 245/40/18 will rub with the H&R sports I got. I rub with 225's, but I am pretty low, which generated some forward caster. Im also running a 18x8 ET44 wheel with a 10mm spacer. Probably pulling the spacers off the front this weekend because I just rub everywhere the road isnt smooth as glass. Sure hope it clears the brake calipers, if not then I will be ordering another set of spacers, just maybe get like some 5mms and pray that works. Im almost to the point of justifying a set of custom Work wheels lol.I'm still trying to figure out if 245/40/18 will rub with the H&R sports I got. If you are not rubbing in the back with the 10mm spacer, you need a 5mm up front, this car is set to have the front wheels around 5mm further out than the back. That's why the sell the "flush" kits with a 5mm offset front to back. Do you have coilovers or just springs? I'm lowering mine this weekend and I added the EuroSport pucks to add some camber just in case.
