Aftermarket intake with dry filter?

Other than the AFE intake, I'm having a difficult time finding one that includes a dry filter. The VWR R600 is interesting, but how well does a foam filter work compared to your typical dry filter? I understand the HP gains are almost nil, I'm just looking for a little turbo noise.
Thanks.

You can always just do a drop in filter, remove the snow grate and cut out the grill vents up front. Then just do a turbo muffler delete and maybe a cts turbo intake. This will give you the noise you want and probably cost the least. Also will flow just as good as an aftermarket

i have done this mods in my A3 1.8tfsi, turbo sound can be hear from outside and slightly better acceleration response.

Have an S&B with dry filter option, really happy with it. Closed system though so not much in the way of increased intake noise.

The Neuspeed intake can be had with a dry filter... I usually install the dry filter when I need to clean the wet/reusable filter... Swap back when ready...

Buy intake that uses a K&N filter. Then ditch the K&N and go with something like AEM Dryflow (which is owned by K&N).
Good call. I also added one of the water-resistant covers which should keep the filter cleaner for longer. Same fun whoosh

The stock paper filter has a surface area of 27 square feet because it's big and has very deep pleats. A foam filter is only going to be about 1 square foot. Think of how big the pores have to be just to make up for that surface area deficit. Filtering is awful with foam filters

I have the VWRacing one...actually from the makers (ITG) with their branding...& its tri layer foam & with the thicker road oil....well tested & very impressed so far...I have used both K&N & Green Cotton filters in the past & never had any problems with filter oil...BUT I would leave to stand in a warm place for 24hrs after oiling & removed the excess oil...BEFORE fitting...
