Aftermarket clutches vs Crank Walk

The pressure plate determines the amount of thrust on the crank, power isn't the issue.
Ahh, responses like these are refreshing. I worried about crankwalk for a bit, but got over it. If it goes, it goes. Aside from that, I stay off the clutch at stop lights, and I ensure not to hold the clutch down on cold starts.

hey. Hope this tthread is still alive

So i just got my 16 gti se upgraded with a dkm stage 2 clutch smf. I added a fluidampr because since the stock DMF acts as a NVH damper as well. I think im just going to go stage 1 with cobb. You guys think that would be safe. I dont need giant gains. Even tho my clutch is rated for 440 trq ill never tune the car to gett to that. I think its to much for a FWD car. Im hoping the stage 1 cobb wont be to much on the crank. Dunno if i will go 91 or 93 octane.
You haven't driven a GTI with 400+ wtq have you? With the right tires and right suspension/mounts it's fine, actually rather fun to drive.

what mounts are you referring to sorry im new to the whole modding your car scene. I just finished paying it off and i want a more sportier car but i dont wanna buy a new car so im tuning and modding.

Dog bone, engine, and transmission mounts help quite a bit along with a 200 TW tire. Then there is the subframe, strut towers, body, and suspension you can tighten up as well. A decent combination will make a large difference in stability and traction.

Planning APR+ tune and the Sachs clutch kit in the future, but now I'm paranoid. I feel like every cold start might be my last 😅

I was going to hold out for a DSG, but no, I just had to have another golf ball shifter 🙄

No ragerts. Yet.

oof. in for more details. im at 41k stock clutch stage 1 APR GSW 4motion... and IM ABOUT READY TO SEND IT to stage 3 is38... but this freaks me out.
