Need some help here since I have never flash my cars before.

I just got a tune today with my 15 GTI with 44k mi. Driving off the lot no issues.
However when I left work 8 hrs later. I notice within 5 mins I smell gas inside my car.

it was consistent until i got home. Called the tuner they recommend me to take it in and claim they only did software.
Googled a bit. Some say is fuel pump/injector loose after higher boost Some say it’s normal and should go away

Should I test it some more before taking it in? Still while I smell gas I have no check engine light or any weirdness from that car itself other then the unpleasant smell obviously. Car pulls strong and what a huge diff! Even my stock exhaust sounds nicer.
anyone has similar issues???

im concerned and since it’s my daily. would u all recommend:
1. Take it to tuner ?
2. Take it to dealer since I have extended warranty knowing the dealer is some what tuning friendly
3. Wait and see if The problem goes away?

i really appreciate any input here
Thanks.

I highly doubt that suddenly something fuel related came loose. In fact that wouldn't happen since a tune is just software. No other mods at the same time? Who was the tuner?

Not tuned but this was happening to me on my '17. Ended up having a bad seal on the gas line. Got it replaced by the dealer under warranty. No issues since.

Update: drove it 10 mi. this morning. Don’t smell anything .....
I just Remember before I left work garage there was a running car right in front of me.
I idled like 5 mins before I took off. Maybe it just sucked in some of the exhaust of The car in front and it was a rainy and humid cold evening last night. Could it hang around that long? (30 mins )

anyway no issues now but will monitor. Thx for the replies.

Maybe the guy who did your tune had gas on his clothing

I think the real problem here is you went with APR and it’s 2020 almost.

Tell us, what we’re you thinking?

Lots of negativity towards apr lately I seen here..wonder why

I just got it because 1 is a reputable tune for a loooong time 2 I don’t have to mess with it 3 it’s on sale

i know the down side is without home tuning and have to pay every time u flash to a diff file but they Don’t charge us if the update is from APR themselves with the same stage ....

Home tuning is a big reason and I think that they are overpriced.

Don't mind them, they're mostly jealous of your apr tuning.

The whole "pay someone large sums of money and have no control over anything/no way to see how the car is running" business model is antiquated.
Ha yes so many people hate paying for the premier name in off the shelf tuning for basic stage 1 power and not having to worry about anything afterwards. Not everyone is driving a full time race car! Plus, some of us have vcds to keep tabs on the engine/car!
