Advice on trouble codes

Hello everyone, I was hoping I could get some help with an issue I’m having with my car. 2016 Golf R.

About two weeks ago I got in my car and started it up and I think every error light that could come on came on. That’s never happened before, never even had any real issues with the car. As soon as I drove off they cleared so I wasn’t sure what had happened. It happened again a few more times a few days later so I started checking forums and it seemed like my issue was the battery. It’s the original battery so that made sense. It tested low with a voltmeter so I replaced with a new DieHard H5-AGM, 60 amp hour, the original was also an AGM.

This did not solve my issues so I did more research and found info on coding with my OBD11. I changed the settings ( in the Battery Adaption section) for the new amp hour as suggested, changed one number in the serial to a 0 and have since tried the AGM-Binary and the Fleece settings. No luck. I’ve tried clearing the codes all at once after the scan, as well as individually in the Control Modules. Still no luck.

Most of the errors say Databus error value received.

Any ideas on what to try next or does this sound like a trip to the dealership? Also, any thoughts on the Battery VooDoo option to reset all sensors?

I just noticed this and wonder if it's my issue. I changed it to Binary-AGM originally because I pulled out the factory AGM battery but it looks like the original setting was EFB.

It still looks like low voltage level affecting a your control modules which is low battery voltage. I would first check the new batteries voltage level when car is not running and then verify alternator is charging your battery as you should be reading approximately 14V when car is running.

Your gateway battery setting look fine. I do not see how they would be causing this issue.

I just checked now and it’s at about 12.6v on standby and 14.2 with the engine running.

Well I’ve tried everything I could get info on. I’ve done the battery adaptation in OBDeleven, I’ve cleared all of the codes and driven the car multiple times but I have the same 3 codes returning now and not clearing.
Yesterday I disconnected the battery leads and shorted them together for 24 hours to see if that would reset all of my sensors but it didn’t make a difference.
It looks like I’m in for a trip to the dealership. My car is under 40k miles, if this speaks to VW reliability and the fact that I can’t perform minor repairs without a trip to the dealership, I’ll be getting out of this car very soon.

Steering angle may need to be reset. There's a problem with either the wheels or steering for sure if that fault is static

The original battery was an AGM? Mine wasn't.

You may have run into the reason why you don't replace it with an aftermarket battery or do it yourself. I had the dealer do it and had no issues. I've been at a dealer when cars were towed in because they wouldn't start or were in limp mode from a bad battery. The VW replacement battery had an excellent warranty, better than the original. Curious what they find.

OEM batteries aren't AGM but the get replaced with em. Mostly Tiguan & Atlas though.
