Advice for those with front BBK.

I never really put much thought into what would happen if I got a flat tire. Well today it happened. I pulled over, jacked up the car and removed the wheel. Just as I was about to put the donut on, I realized how will that be able to fit over my front BBK? Simple answer, it won't. I lucked out, I just happen to have a 30 mm H&R spacer. This gave me just the right amount of clearance. I don't believe a 20 mm spacer would have been enough.

You put spare on rear and then rotate front flat with rear tire. Time consuming but that would be proper

Bingo. Happened to me. Not ideal, but not the biggest deal in the world either. Assuming your not a stance head that's rockin' lower offset/wider rear wheels on a FWD/AWD car, which would probably cause an issue with them fitting on the front. Since you have a big brake kit, I'm assuming you're more about performance as opposed to stance fashion even though you are tuckin' tire lol.

Agreed. It was on my drivers side on a major interstate. The valve stem broke causing it to deflate rapidly. I have newly refinished BBS RS2 18" wheels. It's supposed to have a hidden valve in one of the belts, but the previous owner filled it in and drilled a valve on the inside of the wheel. Total bonehead move on his end, but I have to deal with it now. I was able to find a service station to install a new valve as I was limping 45 miles home.

Thanks for the heads up. Previous cars I've owned had factory BBK's and the spare cleared the calipers no issue.

While I would've figured it out on my own, it's good to have this knowledge beforehand.

Spare goes on the back. I've had cars with factory BBK (MINIs) where the spare only fits on the back.

The Cooper-S I had long time ago came with runflats.. not that I agree with runflats, the car came with no spare tire. But then my Golf-R has no spare either.

From experience though, most of the flats I've gotten were on the rear tires because of front tire kick up of nails and screws.

I'd put the spare on the back anyway, even if it did fit the front. Less weight on the tire, less load when accelerating or braking. Safer all around to have a less competent tire in the back than the front.

I keep a spacer suitable for any axle with my spare tire and correct bolts to mount it.

Winner winner chicken dinner. If you have a space saver spare, it's typically standard recommendation to rotate rear wheel to front (in case of a front wheel flat) and replace rear with space saver. This keeps the handling dynamics consistent in a vehicle where majority of your power, braking, and handling comes from the same set of wheels.
