yes if you don't have the camera you just don't connect those two wires.

I suggest you isolate and leave them on hold near the hood lever until one day you get the itch to retrofit the camera as well :)

Is there a diagram for TIUL coupler? I found these images but do not know which pins are the can bus extended high and can bus extended low.

Awesome write-up on your guide dude. Sucks that it isn't possible for Mk7.5 emblem sensors yet. Hoping someone can get around the licensing issue for those.

It actually is possible. Check the below thread, username 'doctor' can do it.

I retrofitted ACC using MRR radar (flat). I had to install it in the factory location for a 2015 though which is in the lower grill. Would have loved to put it in the upper grill behind the VW logo but it looks as though I would have to change the entire front bumper to fit that grill on a MK7.

The round radar is probably easier, because there is no FeC code, but just as doing the MIB2 retrofit, FeC codes can be remotely activated if done by the right person.

Can someone (with access to ETKA) please confirm if this retrofit will work on my vehicle.

Vehicle : 2017 MK7 Golf 1.8 TFSI - Wolfsburg Edition., Automatic Trans (non-DSG)
VIN : 3VW217AU6HM011915

Comes from factory with the front radar (flat) for Emergency Braking only and no ACC.

While i have seen other vehicles with radar part (5Q0 907 572 G) configured as ACC., i am not sure if my ABS Module (5Q0 614 517 AF) would support it.

Ideally this information should be listed on the parts catalog / ETKA if the ABS will support the PR-8T3, PR-8T5 or PR-8T7 which corresponds to Adaptive Cruise Control for Manual/Auto and Stop to Follow functions. And i dont have this access to check myself.

Any insights / tips will be very helpful.

Thanks,
Ravi.

That's pretty interesting. Did you get your activation done by that same guy? Is there a fee he charges?

Yes, he does the coding and activation remotely. And yes, he charges a fee. Not super cheap but very fair. All in all he spent several hours on my car over the course of a couple days.

I checked that ABS Part# and it is: PR-8T0,8T2,8T5,8T6,8T7 per VW

Thanks for checking Somnus ? Sounds like it would support then.

Just curious, did you check on ETKA ? I had someone check for me on ETKA and it listed this ABS part (5Q0 614 517 AF) as 8T0/8T1 and 8T7

8T1 is Regular CCS
8T7 is Adaptive cruise control (without "follow-to-stop") and speed limiter.

I just made a recent discovery on my 2019 MK7.5 GTI. It seems like the front assist feature uses the same ACC radar. Can someone confirm with me the likelyness of this?

Here's the best photo I could get of the radar/sensor that's embedded behind the VW front emblem. If this happens to be the same one, theoretically I would just need the steering wheel buttons and the re-coding right? No need for any FEC/SWAP activation?

Do you have the part number for the radar by any chance ? Couldnt make out much from the pic you attached. You could also find this information from the VCDS log or in ODB11 if you have access to it.

I am in the same boat as you on this, have the front radar configured as Front Assist (FS) Only., while the same radar in other models are used for both FS and ACC.

So far based on my research found 4 things -

1. Radar of course to support both FS and ACC
2. SWaP / FEC activation
3. ABS Module should support ACC functions - PR-8T8 for braking and un- braking with ACC
4. Engine Control Module (ECU) to support ACC Functions

Like in my case, While i have the Radar and ECU to support ACC, my ABS is not compatible., so you need to have all those things to be compatible
to work together.

Give it a try and please share the outcome, if you were successful with just the activation of SWap/FEC and re-coding and w/o hardware/module changes. As this will help others like me.

I'm going to do a little bit more research and order the ACC buttons. So far, It seems like it only needs the SWAP/FEC license for the ACC feature itself. A guy on this forum that goes by "doctor" does the activation and recoding so I'll be working with him once I'm ready to move forward. I'll post an update if i find anything new.
