So here it is.
Surprisingly, my wife loves the car. She hated my last two R's lol.
Needs to get the windows tinted. Due to needing an RI inspection, I had to have them remove the Llumar tint that was on it. So they'll have to get redone. That'll be the first first thing. No fishbowls plz.
I need to figure out which frameless auto-dimming homelink mirror I need. I think it's 000-072-548-N. But I'm not sure. My wife offered to buy me one as a birthday present if the version I need isn't too expensive.
Zhong Zhong mods will continue. The first ones are definitely going to be Euro LED taillights. Then probably a carbon fiber steering wheel.
Then probably a DSG shift knob for the chicken nugget
Just kidding. That thing looks dumb as fuck.
Going to keep my eye open for a used JB4, but I think that'll eventually have to be forking over $700 for a new one.
Definitely will pay the $400 to that random guy to unlock the full matrix LED headlights.
Will get some bsm power folding mirrors for it eventually.
Oh yeah. This bitch has brand new summer tires on it, so I'll have to be forking over the money for some all seasons sooner than I'd want.
Maybe instead of buying all seasons, I'll buy some winter tires and have those put on. Then in spring, I can buy some new wheels, looking at the TItan7 T-R10s, and have these summer tires mounted on there. Since I don't mind the stock wheels on the car and would have no problem using them as winters.
I think maybe that's it? I'm sure at some point I'll get an intake or something. But I don't really feel it needs much.

Some first thoughts with 90 minutes of seat time.
The car drives phenomenally. Better than the 7/7.5. That extra little bump of power from like a JB4 or tune would really help. Stock DSG tuning feels fine.
The cockpit experience feels better all around, even with some of the negatives I'll go over. Seats are more comfortable. And cooled as well! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for tech, so I love it. The infotainment feels very much like using an actual tablet, vs. what the MIB2 is. No problems with capacitive buttons here. It took me a minute to figure out how to turn my heat off. But from here, I imagine it'll just get left on 'auto', and you can use the slider to change the temp. Complaints of "you have to use the infotainment to control the climate!" seem overblown. My wife is jealous of "Warm Feet" mode.
There are some cockpit drawbacks. The plastics do feel cheaper. I don't necessarily think there's more plastic, everything that was plastic before is still plastic. But it does feel slightly cheaper. Will miss that there's no sunglass holder in the above head console. Or no little drawer by the left knee. The cup holder fucking suck. The ones in the 7.5, especially with the sliding cover, are a million times better. The seat belt buckle feels so cheap and flimsy. Wireless Android Auto and wireless charging are both great. Hate that it pops up "Your phone is now charging" on the screen whenever you set it down.
Guess that's it for now. I'm tired. Going to move from big screen to little screen. The shitposting will persist.

I did. It's not Zhong Zhong though, it was OEM. There's like 20 different versions, DAP has a good guide for the MK6/MK7.

So I found the owners info on the window tint receipt in the glovebox. I couldn't find an email, and didn't really want to text him, so a buddy who has a proclivity for telling Jay to fuck off says "Fuck it bro, I'll text him. Give me his number."
Really, the only reason I wanted to connect with the old owner was the dealer intake form for the car said "Has a tuner", and while someone else was dope enough to check the vin for TD1 for me (it's not), was curious about that part.
