AC coded incorrectly

Hey I was messing around with my OBD11 trying to activate the Colder AC settings and I did something wrong. AC will not run. I'm seeing that the "duration of compressor run-in" and "gear ratio engine AC compressor" are both 0. Definitely shouldnt be

Can somebody pull their AC settings? non-climate controlled backup would be perfect

Can you grab a screenshot and post the current settings? I can go down to my 19 Rabbit in a bit and tell you what differs.

Duration of compressor run in should be 60 seconds. Gear ratio on mine is 0.00

The setting for hot country you are looking for is in long coding, not adaptation.

Long coding and need to toggle to the view I have shown. I have a GSW with the non-Climatronic. My Atlas had it available without having to look at the coding (second screen shot) and had the Climatronic. So there are some differences.

Yes I managed to enable those options but I'm getting a fault for "AC compressor first run - not performed"

Clearly you changed something else. Easy to look at your history.

The only thing showing is changing the run in time. From 120-180. I changed it back. caused some sort of calibration error

Always good practice to keep logs of all your modules. Reference scans of non-broken cars can be found here: https://forums.ross-tech.com/forumdisplay.php?45-Reference-Scans-and-Maps-of-Non-Broken-Cars&

Perfect. Well I know the coding is correct now. Fault code B109EF0 is preventing AC from being activated.

I forced the compressor on with manual activation test and it works. Blows cold air but in testing mode the AC dash light blinks and it's obviously not a fix. Just trying to figure out how to overcome this fault.

Checking fuses but internet is not turning up answers

Perhaps I have found the answer fault code shortened to B109E

Climatic _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Coding

Coding information is found using the*Long Coding Helper*while connected to the vehicle with VCDS.

When replacing a module it is recommended to save the original coding and transfer it to the new module.

Basic Setting

Note:*The basic setting needs to be performed, when the Climatic control module (J301) or flap motor(s) have been replaced.

Adapt flap end stops

Necessary when flap motors are replaced -or- when a self check needs to be performed for self diagnosis of faulty motors.
[Select]
[08 - Heating/Air Conditioning]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select "Adapt flap end stops" from the drop-down list
[Go!]
The basic setting takes approximately 20 seconds.
Finished Correctly should be displayed
[Stop]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

AC Compressor First Run-In

Necessary when the Climatic control module (J301) is replaced.
Prerequisites*to start the basic setting A/C compressor first run:

Engine at idle

Transmission in Park or Neutral

Do not cycle the ignition

Basic setting was performed for the flaps

Inside blower motor is switched on

Air vents fully open

Load management not active

"AC Compressor First Run-In" Steps:
Start engine and allow it to Idle.
Adapt flap end stops*as described above.
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select "Compressor Run In; Automatic Start" from the drop-down list.
[Go!]

It will show completed, but wait 120 sec (2 Min) and observe the flashing A/C button light on the HVAC panel.

After the Basic Settings has completed, the A/C light will quit flashing and the fault code will clear.

[Stop]
Note:*If Basic Settings reports Error the module may need to see an Adaptation change before this can be completed. Go to Adaptation and change "Driving time for compressor run in" from 120 -to- 120 and save it followed by repeating the entire procedure

Manual heating + cooling -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Coding

This module does not support coding!

Basic Setting

The Manual Heating/Air Conditioning controller does not require a scan tool to perform the Basic Settings for the Activation of the A/C Compressor, please use the following instructions below.

Position the blower switch to the first or second speed

Position the air distribution control to 'Vent'

Position the interior temperature control to 'Cold', turn to the stop

Start the Vehicle's engine while in Park/Neutral

Simultaneously press/ hold the AC and Defrost buttons until the AC and recirculation buttons illuminate

Cycle the ignition and check for fault codes in the 08-Auto HVAC and proper HVAC system operation.

Special Notes

This procedure above, must be competed when:

The J301-Air conditioning system control unit is replaced.

The fault code*00898-005 will not clear.

^^^ hmm.......... by all means try the procedures (they might work) - but you do know that these processes are for the 5K Golf (mk6, not mk7)?
