The seventh generation Volkswagen Golf hasn’t reached dealerships yet but the tuners at Abt Sportsline have already started work on an upgrade program. No less than five power boosts will be available for the new model, starting with the smallest unit and ending with the most powerful diesel. While the 1.2 TFSI pumps out 86 hp (64 kW) in its standard configuration, ABT can work on it to produce 105 hp (78 kW).
There’s also a 25 hp (18 kW) increase for the 140 hp (104 kW) 1.4 TFSI, increasing the output to 165 hp (123 kW). Moving on to the diesels, ABT can tune the 1.6 TDI to pump out 125 hp (93 kW) compared to the standard 105 hp (78 kW). The 2.0 TDI with 150 hp (111 kW) gains an extra 30 hp (22 kW), while the more powerful 2.0 TDI variant with 184 hp (137 kW) can be prepared to produce 210 hp (156 kW).
Besides the power boost, ABT has also developed a new front spoiler, front grille, mirror caps, side skirts and headlight covers for the Golf VII. At the back we notice the new apron and the four tailpipes. Other available goodies include a suspension spring kit and various 18- and 19-inch wheels.
No details at the moment regarding the price tag of these upgrades.
