60-100 mph times

When I was looking through my JB4 logs, I realised they are also good for calculating various in gear acceleration times.

I have calculated that in third gear at 4000rpm, my 6MT is travelling at 60mph, and at 6700rpm it's at 100mph.

I haven't specifically done any third gear pulls yet which capture the entire rpm range required, with a bit of overlap at each end, say 3800rpm to 6900rpm, but looking at the logs I have, comparing the time stamps from 4000rpm to 6700rpm, it appears my car is doing 60-100mph in less than 5.5 seconds, which is really quick!

I am going to do log some runs to specifically measure the time, has anyone actually measured their in gear acceleration times with timing equipment and then compared the results with the time stamping on their JB4 logs to confirm the accuracy of the time stamps? I have no reason to doubt their accuracy at all, but it would be good to know for sure.

I will also do a couple of runs on map 4 to compare the times to published stats and calculate the time difference between stock vs map 6. Has anyone else done this?

Yeah, it's easier to work out the time from the csv log though. I have done a few runs on a level stretch of road and it looks my 60-100 time is actually 5.2s. I am going to do some more logs to to work out my 0-60 and 0-100 times too.

What other mods do you have other than the JB4?

Can we keep this 60-100mph thread alive? I think this range is more for basic/slow stage 1/2 cars as BT guys like to flex all the way up to 20-30mph more

I'm using Torque app (adding 60-80 & 80-100mph) - not sure how accurate but here are my times

Best i've seen is 6.2 sec (winter ~40F and at about 70F).

Mods:
GTI PP
APR stage1 HO file
CTS FMIC
AWE track Catback
Removed "snow guard"
21lb 18s on 235 PSS

APR advertises 5.73 for GTI and 5.32 for Golf R at stage1 (subtracting 0-60 from 0-100 times)

The last time I was in Mexico, my car went just about triple digits. Can't ever see going for 130mph anywhere near civilization. I like this 60-100mph idea.

I am on Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 235 section tires. I stop spinning once in third so about 60mph. Although it doesn’t spin bad from 2nd because torque is limited to 400lbft actual and my car has the stiffest mounts I could buy.

Also my car is full weight at 3040lbs.

Sweet, thanks! What is your traction situation like?

Good to know - that's awesome!
