5 door mini cooper coming to USA

"With the possible exception of the Countryman, MINI has stumbled and fallen in the sales charts. Some say that it's because they've lost their way and are making oversized cars, but does anybody really want a 3.5-meter car in this day and age, and can BMW make money with that?

Probably not, since they decided against Rocketman production. So, going back to the drawing board, they actually redesigned their core model, the hatchback, into an everyday car that lots of people can use.

The third generation model will debut this Monday, November 18th, but only the Cooper and Cooper S 3-door models will be shown. This is something new, something a bit extra. A 5-door version of the hatch will for the first time be available. It will have a slightly longer wheelbase and as you can see, offers the Cooper S (or SD) powertrain, indicated by the twin exhaust system. This means under the bonnet is the new B38 family 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 194 hp and 280 Nm (300 Nm with overboost). That's kind of a lot for a subcompact that's now been reengineered for families"

They should just add a suicide door on the rear-passenger side (ala the Veloster) and call it a day.

Clubman and Countryman don't make a whole lot of sense.
