I've got a 2014 Golf Match 1.4TSi. For a few months I've been getting an intermittent 3rd (high) brake light fault on the dashboard. When checking it, the light always works but slightly dimmer than I would expect. All the LEDs are the same brightness. Recently the dashboard fault light has become permanent, but the brake light still works but dimmer. I got fed up of the warning light so I've removed the light, there's no obvious damage and the incoming cable is showing 12v when the brake is pressed.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to buy a new LED strip only to find the fault is elsewhere.
