That's pretty cool. I might try printing that in ABS as I don't have an ASA.

Those look great!!

I love printing in PETG not sure what issues you were having. Prints like PLA just stickier.

It might just be this Inland PETG+. For me it is so sticky that it will always string, but the bigger issue is that I have to run really low accelerations (or turn off pressure advance) or I get extruder skipping on every acceleration and unretract. Only filament that gives me that problem. It will be bad enough that layers with lots of retracts can end up underextruded.

I've messed with temps, speeds, accels, pressure advance, retract/unretract distance/speeds... I eventually decided this was good enough for a part that goes on the bottom of my car, hit print, and plan to never use it again.

I printed my diveplane/foglight flare pieces in ASA with no issue and much better surface finish - and faster. So at least for me, no reason to use PETG now that I used up what I had.

Foglight flares / diveplanes. Printed in ASA and then vapor smoothed. Really happy with the finish. It's not perfect, with some visible layer lines on overhangs, but im happy with it considering zero sanding.

One of the managers at work is really into RC cars. He wrecked one of his cars into a curb and broke some suspension components. Hobby shop told him parts were not available because the car is 7+ years old. He remembered I do 3D printing and asked if I could make him a replacement. Made him a "test" piece and he said it fit great. Charged him $10 dollars. I'm curious how it holds up. Used PETG. Not an exact replica but close enough. Those cylinders on the end hold the front suspension and are at a 3 degree angle. Can probably run different angles to change the drivability.

Broken piece. I forgot to get a shot of the printed version.

Printed and painted some badges. Definitely a learning curve with getting resin prints this thin not to warp, and not sure how they'll hold up, so probably will be reprinting, but still look cool for now.

That's pretty neat. I've considered making a badge out of ABS, just never got around to it as I wasn't sure how well it'd hold up.

Been a while since I've posted in this thread. I'm doing my yearly Halloween prints for those kids that can't have candy or have specific allergies. I lost track at over 120 ghosts.

We're also heading to the Texas Renn Fest this year so I had to print some pirate gold to give away.

Prusa getting with the times. New Core machine.

Impressive machine and price is not too crazy for the Prusa experience ($1200). This one machine could replace 2.

Hmmm Prusa Core One or Bambu Labs X1? I've only used Creality printers and may get a new one in a couple months. Some ABS printing. X1 is what Im considering; dont know if the extra $$$ for the Prusa is worth it.

As someone with no skin in the game or experience with any of them, I'd say the X1C. Just because I know multiple people with one and they swear by it 🤣

Yeah our office has the X1 for architectural models. The thing is literally 0 maintenance and completely deletes the whole aspect of guessing and testing settings. Really solid piece of kit. I only have experience with the X1, Dremel printers and Elegoo resin though so take it with a grain of salt.
