Question for you guys, the RS3 front LCA are recommended. If I need to replace other parts, like the rear camber arms, trailing arms, rear lower control arms, will the RS3 arms fit a R/S3/A3?

I’m assuming there would be a benefit from the bushings versus stock R/S3/GTI

To contribute to this thread, I would add that the sweet spot (for me) on my MK7 R was pairing Bilstein B6 Damptronic Dampers with the older APR linear springs (part number SUS00003) -- SUS00002 for GTI's.

This was after a lot reading, and a lot of trial and error ($$$). I had the dampers paired initially with the linear Eibach ProKit springs, which were much better than stock but--like most have said--the front spring rates were a tad bit too soft.

I can't confirm for sure, but I think the APR springs were also made by Eibach. The front spring rates on the SUS00003 are noticeably stiffer than the linear Eibach Pro Kit springs. The drop is also minimal--oddly enough less of a drop than the Pro Kit springs. I haven't had any complaints since making the switch. Comfort mode is very plush. Race mode is very tight.

I daily the car throughout Boston and the greater Boston area (terrible roads) in all Race settings except for the damper settings in "Normal," and road imperfections are an afterthought.

I floated the idea of coilovers for a while but, having had them on previous cars, I just never tracked my car nor actually adjusted the height/damper settings once I found settings I liked to make it worthwhile. It's overkill for me but might not be for others.

I’d doubt very many people buy coilovers to constantly raise or lower their car, it’s about dialing in your setup for what your goal is.

The Mk7 R is only 5mm lower than a GTI.

The Mk7.5 R uses a different set of springs that sit 10m lower than the previous Golf R, with a stiffer front spring rate (216lbs/in VW 175-180), for a total of 15mm ride height reduction compared to standard GTI.

Yes, this final amount will vary a few mm depending on manual VW DSG trans.

You don’t have to believe me. I’m just sharing the results of an entire year combing the parts catalogs, and I’ve shown what works well and what doesn’t.

That’s the goal of the forums: to share experiences and information, in order to help others with their build or repair paths.

Negative. I have pictures and data proving it. 😎
Since you have the data and the goal of the forums is to share information, post how you confirmed that Mk7 Golf R front springs have different rates than 2019 Golf R springs.

The differences in these springs w/r to rate and/or length has to be minute.

In theory, people should do this. Raised for winter/snow and lowered in the summer/warmer months. I maxed out mine when I did the CA to AK trip, lowered it back for the track.

Because each time requires toe adjustment.
