Random but I never really followed F1. I realized this one time how huge it was. I was probably 15ft away from Mark Webber in an Alpine Stars hospitality at a GP race. The people that recognized him walk in the front door were gathering outside and pulling out their phones. They just stood there waiting for him to come back out or something... He just walked out the back door where they weren't allowed access :ROFLMAO:

There is countless "Rich Energies" types in F1.... this year we have "ROKiT " that sell cheap phones in the UK, somehow F1 title sponsor money (tens of millions $)....

Another is "Husky Chocolate" they sponsor everything, how can they afford it? They only cater to hotels and such, so it kinda makes sense for them....Tons of those types of companies though...

Anyways, Haas says they'll be "more careful next time"... You know the CEO of Rich Energy "Storey" (the guy with the massive beard in the article below) would get on twitter and fight with fans right? He would talk crap about Haas when they would do bad too mid-race lol

You guys saw the Drama going on today in F1 today? The teams (non-Ferrari) released joint-statements in protest of the FIA handling of the Ferrari PU investigation.... Last year they all accused Ferrari of cheating with fuel/oil consumption (Red bull/Horner/Max calling their exhaust smell "Fruity")...

So the FIA investigated all this time and last week 10min before the testing ended they released a statement that said everything was fine and that all the findings where to be kept confidential ...

As you can imagine, this didnt sit well... well they protested today... *grabs popcorn*

They all said the same, this is Mclaren's:

https://www.mclaren.com/racing/team/statement-mclaren-racing-2020/
They even timed the releases, screenshot of email from a journalist / media lmao

Edit: Others that come to mind was Sportpesa and Force India/RP until just recently, literally a Kenyan gambling site...Ferrari's "Mission Winnow" is Phillip Morris/Marlboro.... "Better tomorrow" with Mclaren, its British American Tobacco lol

Certainly doesn't do anything to squash the long held rumor of Ferrari favoritism

I was reading yesterday that the Vietnam GP might be the next to be cancelled because of Caronavirus. Vietnam apparently has travel bans from affected countries, notable Italy. F1 will not race without Ferrari. I really hope they don't cancel it. Losing China is one thing (usually a boring race, and the track stinks IMO), but to lose the first Vietnam GP would be a real shame.

FIA said they would not hold a championship round if a team (or number of teams) can't make it, regardless of the race itself

Didn't know about that at all. I did find it odd how that company came out of nowhere though

Mind blown....didn't know about ANY of that

I was always wondering what the Mission Winnow (company?) was too, and meant to Google it when I was watching the show....but wow

So were/are there loopholes that they could do it/get away with it?
I mean, come on, SOMEONE had to catch onto this stuff...right?

F1's expensive and obviously they need the money, so just take it from anywhere?

Yeah, they have gotten pretty cheeky over the years.... there has been talk of banning this, but it seems to still be allowed in Europe... I believe Australia and some others dont allow it, so they don't run them during those races....

But how exactly do they get away with it? Well... they are called a corporate social responsibility (CSR) exercise....this is their company mission they themselves put up...

“Mission Winnow is a PMI-driven initiative to demonstrate our commitment to continuous innovation and development of new solutions that can expedite positive change for society. Inspired by the drive and dedication of our partners, it articulates how we are transforming our business through science and by adopting a new way of thinking and exploring every option.”

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/141908/ferrari-removes-mission-winnow-logo-for-australia
PMI owns the advertising real state for the Ferrari F1 team, and then they re-sell it.. its mostly empty and they are always filling it with subliminal advertising... thats how they used to operate.... In the 1980s and early 1990s they where allied with Mclaren (and Senna)....

Yeah, since 2019 they are doing this matte red thats a shade off the regular rosso corsa.. this year the matte is a little darker...

The best color was in 2007, they called it "Rosso Formula 1 2007" ... you can spec your ferrari in that color....
