Busy prepping the car for VIR. Doing a nut and bolt check. Fluid change for engine and trans. Rear slide pins clean and lube. Brake flush and bleed.

It’s been a 2-year break from the track. It’s been way too long. Looking forward to joining TSCC. Cool December temps will make for HP and slippery track conditions.
Bummer I can't make this one.

Got the GTi prepped for VIR this weekend. Flushed the brake system with new SRF and bled the brakes. track pads are in.
Alignment is scheduled at VW tomorrow morning. I clearanced the towers a little to squeeze out a few extra cambers.

I’ll be running an old set of RR’s. But I need to get some used R7’s

Have you signed up for the trackdaytire sponsorship? Their cost on R7 is pretty good. I actually don't mind the RR, but they take a lot more camber (-4.2 in my case) and much much higher pressures (I run 44/40). The rr are half the cost of the R7 though!

My brother will be moving to NC next year and VIR is the closest track, hoping to see some of y'all there! Guess I'm gonna get a trailer now ?

Looks like I have two injectors that are not spraying correctly. Had misfires on #3 & #4 At VIR. Car would go into limp mode after 3-4 laps.

Oil sample came back with 4.8% fuel dilution. Which isn’t terrible if you have 5-7.5k on the oil, but I had 400 miles.

The car drives fine at highway speeds. No issues driving back from the track.

Did a compression test over the weekend.
Still holding up great considering the miles and number of track days.

Secondary Air Re-location

Been working on relocating my secondary air pump to create room to relocate my oil cooler to the driver side fender well. I had to jettison the washer fluid reservoir (a puzzle for another day).
As I have a R-bumper conversion on my GTi, I decided to go the OEM route.
R aux bracket, front and rear ducts. I had the R lower wheel liner for years so air is directed through the front and out the wheel liner.
Re-drilled the mounting holes on the bracket to rotate the air pump. Trimmed a tab to clear the IC hose. Shifted the slotted mounting bracket as far as it would go to clear the aux bracket.

I will be divorcing the oil cooling from the coolant circuit using the 529 Innovation oil takeoff adapter.

Hopefully you still check in here? I'm doing this same thing and can't figure out how to add the cross pipe that goes across the top of the radiator. R has a 2-fan setup and different shroud than the Golf/GTI - I think I can just zip tie up there somehow but the brackets on that pipe don't line up to anything useable to bolt it down.
