Hey Folks,

Can't remember the last time I posted on the forums but I hope everyone is doing well.

My Golf R has 100k miles now and she needs some TLC. There are several things happening with her. Will start with two of them:

  1. Engine quits periodically while idling and sometimes when I begin to accelerate from a stop.
  2. When filling the fuel tank, I can not fill wide open on the trigger as gas begins to surge out the filler neck and vent tube. I can only lightly squeeze the trigger; resulting in 15 min at fuel pump.
I'd like to keep Ross-Tech connected during my commutes to work so it can capture what is happening during the engine quits. Anyone able to point me in the right direction on what channels to monitor/record when trying to diagnose? Regarding the fuel tank and fuel surging out, anyone have a similar issue?

My most recent scan had the following regarding the fuel tank:
197644 - Control Circuit for Fuel Tank Flap
B1263 01 [00001001] - Electrical Failure
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

I did the suction pump on my own as mine wasn't eligible for the recall. Hardest parts for me was working in the tight confines of the gas tank, and getting the fuel lines to stay back on once I was done. This is the video I used to help me visualize what was in he gas tank so I could do it all by feel.
