RT660 245/40/18s are unusable on my GTI. I've run this size in Nitto NT-01 and Hankook RS4 with no problem. But the RT660s wore through a fender liner in about 20 miles. My shop will be putting RS4s on next week. Anyone want a set of near new RT660s?

Went back and forth between 245/40R17 and 255/40R17 RT660s. I'm glad I decided to stick with 245s! 255s would have been too wide for a 17x8. I wish I could buy 17x8.5 RSe05s! The tires stacked to the right are 255/50R20s for an Atlas. When people say RT660s run wide they aren't kidding!

Click the link in my sig... I had to do some silly shit to not rub the fuel filler neck on my GTI at -2.0 deg camber for 245/40R17s on my 17x9 Apex wheels. No way would 255s have worked. I have maybe a couple mm of clearance. If you have an R, then may be a non-issue.

I had 255/40s on the front and 235/45s on the back. I had to raise the front ~1/8" to keep from wearing away the fender liner, but after that they never rubbed or made any noise. I was also running a 3mm spacer with my wheels (which were 17x9 ET45)
