CTS catted DP is in. Flashed an EQT stage 2 91oct file on that originally came with the used AP I bought. DP really makes a nice difference, no more bottle neck feeling anymore where you let go of the throttle and it slows you down, it now just flows and the car coasts smoother.

After the drive home from the shop I got code P0420 and I read that EQT suggests you unplug the O2 sensor and reflash the tune in order to get rid of that code but instead get p0036 which is okay? lol. whatever, I plan on using stratified when im ready anyways.

For stg 2 not sure what code pops up when the O2 is unplugged but as long as you use an Accessport you will have a CEL. Cobb removed the option to suppress emissions related codesna couple of years ago so ANY tuner that uses the AP for flashing will not be able to alter the CEL.

Yeah that's what ive come to find out. So the AP originally showed P0420 but not an actual CEL light on the dashboard. I unplugged the O2 sensor, reflashed the stage2 file and now I get p0036 which doesn't cause any harm in the long term unlike P0420 which makes the car run rich after a while. This is all based on EQT's info.
No CEL on the dash either, only get the code if I scan it. As long as I get no CEL lights or any negative effects on performance im fine with it.

Sounds like that tune was pre Green Speed Update, which means it hides the CEL on the dash.

Like @MQB_7.5R mentioned your tune has to be pre Greenspeed. Any new tunes created will not suppress the codes and wikm illuminate the CEL.

Noted~

I assume now, if you get the dashboard CEL they only way to get rid of it is by messing with J spacers and such?
Correct. The issue becomes there is supposedly a glitch of sorts with Cobb that over time long term fuel trims will be out of wack hence the recommendation to unplug the secondary O2.

so... I switched over to a new stage 2 file from Stratified. This time for 93oct unlike the previous EQT file that was for 91(came with the AP). right away I got CEL on the dashboard like you guys stated.

Tried my luck with some $9 auto zone spark plug defoulers and we are now CEL free. Been driving a lot and giving it the beans every chance I get to see if I can trigger P0420 and nothing.

Although you have no CEL, your fuel trims might get out of wack after enough driving. After having an O2 spacer on my car, I decided to just unplug the sensor to play it safe.

Doesn't unplugging the sensor still trigger the CEL?
