Hi everyone! I just bought a used GTI 2018 Performance with 19" wheels but I want to change them to 17" because of the bad quality roads. I'm currently considering next options:

Wheels:
Alutec Grip GR R17 W7 PCD5x112 ET49 DIA57.1 or
Alutec Singa DBFP R17 W7 PCD5x112 ET49 DIA57.1

Tires:
Michelin Pilot Sport PS4 225/45 R17 94Y XL

What do you think about these options? Are they compatible with GTI 7.5? Any other bits of advice? Thanks in advance!

My favorite 17’s are the RSE05 (17x8 ET45, ~17 lbs), a clean classic 5-spoke.

and I would do a 235/45/17 tire like the Michelins you posted. You already know Michelin’s are great lol

I like Neuspeed and have 17" RSe12 on my car, but Neuspeed has dropped a lot of their 17" wheels. The only one they list now is the RSe05.

I run 17 Neuspeed Rse16s for winter. Love them.

I have 17" Continental Winter Contact tires on Rial rims, I like the Rial better than the stock rims! The plastic lug nut covers fit, as well. They guy who balanced them said they balanced better than most. The winter tires are better than any all-season tires I've ever had (I use 18" Michelin 4S for summer and autocross).
