1.0 TSI Throttle Body 04C133062C - Broken Spring

The spring in the throttle body has just failed abroad, so needed a VW dealer repair. I found a supply source in Poland who can supply springs for €25 instead of a few £00 for the complete body. So I can get a couple sent to a French address.
It seems quite a common failure across a number of VAG cars, a bit of a design failure??

Wondered if anyone knew of a specialist spring maker in UK who might be able to fabricate?? I have found https://www.leespring.co.uk/

Bugger......& seems like a common problem....on top of the sticking turbo wastegate actuator rod pivot joint......two minor faults causing expensive "replace whole box" type solutions!!..I hate it!!

It's a common problem, dealers have TPI/TSB for this issue. Car generates P155800 in engine ECU. And the problem with throttle bodies was eliminated from 30.06.2018 (from this day, throttle bodies have reinforced springs) . If you search for used throttle body, it must be from 30.06.2018 and onward. Production date is above the part number on the throttle body, in format, day of year: year, for example 009:8 means 9th of January 2008, so from 181:8 onward are with better spring and should work without issues

Maybe a little off-topic, but problem (with rod pivot) doesn't require to replace everything, you have "repair kits" form the dealer and TPI/TSB how to change them (at least dealers have this info) AFAIR 1.0 EA211 you change only the rod, and 1.2/1.4 you change waste-gate actuator

I know, & yes the 1.4lt that I have you have to replace the whole electronic wastegate actuator unit...& they are around the £150 new...So greasing the pivot point with the correct lubricant every year or so helps prevent an early replacement of the unit!
