0% APR and no payments 6 months

I’ve never seen a 0% on an R before. My wife got her GTI with a .9% and we were happy about that.

I'm in Jax and would do it if I didn't just do suspension, brembos, tune, and new wheels, tires on my 19 Rabbit. Bad timing.

Always read the fine print, but it's usually those 'same as cash' type promotions for mattress and TVs that if you miss a payment or don't pay off during the promo period resets to like 29.99% or something absurd. Regardless, automatic payments are the way to go.

Not the case with VW, its a purchase contract so once its executed the terms remain in place for the life of the loan.

Have you read the fine print? I've never seen a zero percent loan that didn't void the terms if a payment was late.

I've never done one of the zero percent loans but I've heard horror stories about if a payment is late it gets costly. If you do a zero percent loan pay in person or an electronic transfer on time because it will negate the deal if the payment is late.

My girl has done 2 zero-interest car loans, including her current '18 Kia Soul, and neither one had any crazy provisions like that. Sounds more like a consumer loan or wacky Best Buy credit card promo than a car loan, but who knows, could be some out there with nasty details in the fine print.

Waitasec - there's a huge difference between "no payments for 6 months" and "first six payments waived". That statement implies that the first six payments just go away - essentially creating a 66-month loan with VW eating the cost of those first 6 payments.

So which is it - the former, or the latter? If the latter, that's an INSANELY great deal.

Payments are not waived, but since its 0% the principal does not increase during that 6 month period and once you begin installments, the entirety of your payments are applied to principal.
