Any chance you will ever release the 18" version in race silver?

Yes, but we do not have a current ETA at this time. Ideally, we plan to offer all four finishes (Anthracite, Race Silver, Satin Black, and Satin Bronze) on all four of our 17" and 18" SM-10 fitments. With that said, we cannot justify additional finishes without considering market demand first. As we continue to push further into the VW/Audi market we will hopefully see more SM-10s go out the door. Once we make a dent in our current inventory we will be able to start expanding our finish offerings for one of the next production runs.

I am not aware of any Taos customers with SM-10s installed. However, I would be very interested to see how it turns out! Considering the Taos is based on the MQB platform, there isn't any reason I can think of why the SM-10s won't work just fine fitment-wise. With that said, if you do install a set on a Taos, please send us over some pictures for us to use for future customer reference!

Ignore the excessively small overall diameter and enough wheel gap for me to hide inside the wheel well (they are about 1.5" smaller than stock since they came off my GTI). Thinking 245/45R18 on some 18x8.5 or 245/50R17 would look great.

Just as a heads-up, the SM-10 deal has officially hit 100 pledges, unlocking the max discount of $300 off plus free shipping!

These wheels likely won't be offered at this high of a discount for the rest of the year, so if you were thinking about getting a set, now is the time to pledge!

Out of curiosity @APEXWheels - will any of the Apex VW fitments (17x9, 18x8.5, or 18x9) fit the AP Racing 9668 calipers? These are wider by a good margin vs the 9660 (which you guys have on the fitment chart already).

Here is a template for reference:
https://apracing.com/cdn/drawings/cp9668-1cd.pdf

The main benefit would be 25mm thick brake pads (vs 18mm). Trying to find a set of wheels for future-proofing against having to sell. I would prefer to get the wider 9668 over the 9660 if at all possible, but if not then 17x9 it is :p

Neither of the 17x8.5" ET43 or 18x8.5" ET43 wheels will be able to clear the larger 9668 APRacing kit. The 17x9" ET42 also has a clearance issue at the dropwell, making it a bit tighter than what we would typically recommend running. The 18x9" ET42 doesn't have the dropwell clearance issue but the caliper is still only 1.4mm away from the spoke, which is less than our 3mm recommended minimum clearance. With that said, the only way to safely clear that massive 9668 APRacing kit is by running the 18x9" ET42 with a 3mm spacer.

Hope this helps!

NOW we're talkin'! Will there be an 18" option as well?
We sure are! However, the 18"s are requiring a bit more engineering time to dial-in brake clearance for the popular larger aftermarket BBKs for the VW/Audi chassis these wheels fit. With that said, our forged VS-5RS VW/Audi release will be a bit staggered with 17" fitments releasing first, followed by 18"s a month or two after.
