MK7 GTI Suspension Parts - Bilstein, 034, etc

Suspension parts that I purchased for my 2017 VW GTI. I had intended to use these but decided to go a different route. All parts are brand new in box, and were only removed to inspect and take photos. These parts are intended for a 2015-2019 GTI, but may fit other years/models - please do your...

Adjusting/modifying the internal bump stops on B8 struts… (please lend help & wisdom)

Does the bottoming-out issue only happen with B8 + lowering springs or does it happen with other struts too? Seems like everyone and their mother has lowered a gti on stock struts and I don’t see the forums filled with these complaints (maybe I’m just missing it). I’m curious if Bilsteins in...

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

For someone with a set of Eibach 1” lowering springs (and Bilstein B8s) sitting in the garage, could you elaborate a bit?

URGENT ADVICE NEEDED - Golf MK7 - leaking hatch just bought this ugh

I had a leak in my trunk and found out that I had this problem: I replaced the rubber tube and no more leak. It’s worth checking if that is your issue.

Looking for advice on suspension creak

Update: I pulled out the BFI Stage 1 dogbone mount insert last night and it was broken. Installed a new VW bolt and torqued to spec and the noise is gone. Now I need to decide if I want to get another one, try another brand, or leave the pendulum mount alone.

Looking for advice on suspension creak

I do have the BFI stage 1 insert. Good idea, I’ll give that a try. I do like the insert though so I’m kind of hoping that is not the culprit

Looking for advice on suspension creak

I'm hoping to get some advice on where to look to fix an annoying suspension creak. The noise has been occurring for about a year now and is getting louder and more frequent. It sounds identical to the noise in the video below, however it only occurs when I accelerate. It is most severe when...

    MK7 Confessions

I have an annoying front suspension creak that happens almost every time I start moving forwards. I have spent more time and energy stressing about it than actually trying to find/fix it… Sounds a lot like this: https://youtube.com/shorts/DfNp9fi32vU?feature=share

Tire Size for 17x7.5 Rims on Track

I’ve seen this article on here before and I found it really helpful: https://motoiq.com/how-to-properly-select-and-size-tires-for-performance/ Main takeaway for me was that you should go to TireRack, look at the specs for a given tire, and look at the “tread width” value rather than using the...

    Wilwood BBK: Any Good?

Yeah, I’m not 100% sure about compatibility. The Wilwood site doesn’t list MK7 platform but that’s the one that Bryce has, so at least one person has made it work.

    Wilwood BBK: Any Good?

Not sure about OP, but this is the one I was talking about. Looks significantly more expensive since the last time I looked at it. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/wil-140-12789

    Wilwood BBK: Any Good?

One thing to note: I believe Bryce’s kit came with 20” brake lines where they should have been 26” long. Might be worth checking what comes standard in the kit before you buy.

    17" RPF1's with TTS brakes

Just as an alternative, you can get in touch with Enkei USA and ask if the wheels will fit on a TTS. I did this when I bought my 17x8 RPF1 wheels for my car. Enkei seems to have brake caliper geometry data and can compare it to their wheel geometry. Hope this helps

    VWs hate ATE Typ200 fluid

That’s a good point. The service manager asked me to drive a couple hundred miles and get back to them, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time. If I end up having to go back, I’ll make sure they do a full flush.

    VWs hate ATE Typ200 fluid

I’m not sure... this was done by a shop and I didn’t ask for that info.

    VWs hate ATE Typ200 fluid

Has anyone continued to hear squeaks even after the ATE is flushed out? My local VW specialist flushed with ATE 200 at the 40k service, and then with Motul when I brought it back for the squeaking. Even after a few days and ~50 miles I’m still hearing a pretty squeaky brake pedal...
