    Power Liftgate mod recommendation ?

Have you checked inside the car as it's closing to see if the "suction" latch is pulling the hatch inward after it first closes - like this? I'll just add that when I first installed, it seemed to work properly maybe 60% of the time. And then once I started driving with it, it worked perfectly...

Retrofitting Blind Spot Assist / Side Assist

Pretty sure I ended up with "C" modules in my car - no issues with them. As @Cuzoe mentioned, though, just be sure that you get Variant ("Sportwagen" in Canada/US) if you have that, as the normal Golf brackets don't fit (ask me how I know 🙄).

    Lots o' Mk7 Retrofit stuff

Assuming whatever died in my garage and stunk it up did not first consume the radar module, it is indeed still available. Shoot me a pm.

    Retrofitting Heated Steering Wheel

Heading out every morning at 5:30am this week (temps right around freezing), this is a definite "no future car of mine will be without this" feature going forward.

    Retrofitting Heated Steering Wheel

The whole mod. (Apparently, I *really* hate all of the warning / error lights that come on when you start up after having disconnected / reconnected the battery. :D )

    Retrofitting Heated Steering Wheel

For me, I really liked the look of the Mk4 cars, particularly the Golf, but then the Mk5....never really clicked with me. And then the Mk6, particularly the Golf....just did not like at all. As soon as I saw the Mk7, though, I was like, "Ok - time to upgrade the Mk4." :D And then the facelift...

    Retrofitting Heated Steering Wheel

I gotta say...when I first saw the new VW logo, I thought it looked like a bit too much of a throwback....like, a little too Third Reich-ish (?). Nonetheless, after getting bullied ;) by @Cuzoe into getting the Mk8 wheel....I can't believe how antiquated all of those Superman-logo-shaped...

Ummm.....I just kept the battery connected.... 😱

    You're welcome. :D

    Retrofitting Heated Steering Wheel

That's exactly what my heated SW cruise buttons looked like (prior to going to the Mk8 wheel). After using it for a year and some....still no idea what it did. (Mk8 touch-pad SW doesn't have anything like that.) I will point out, though, that unless you have adaptive cruise control (ACC), your...

    Lots o' Mk7 Retrofit stuff

On cars with an external amp, there's no audio signal directly from the MIB unit to the speakers - like it is in your car. The audio signal instead goes over MOST (fibre-optic) to the amp under the driver seat, then from there out over copper wires to the speakers spread around the car. (I know...

    Is a VCDS Bleed Necessary???

VCDS just has a function in BASIC SETTINGS that says "fill" (or something like that - been a few years and can't remember all those details). Post-bleed is just your old-fashioned someone stomps the pedal, another person opens/closes bleed screw, pedal is let back up. Repeat 7-10x per wheel.

    Is a VCDS Bleed Necessary???

Will it "renew" the fluid in the ABS unit? I don't know. I'm just sharing the recommended maintenance procedure from the factory manual. My guess is that maybe *everything* doesn't necessarily get flushed out of the ABS unit with the non-VCDS bleed, but it's sufficient to keep everything working...

    Is a VCDS Bleed Necessary???

Ahhh - good. If doing a simple flush, then, simply proceed from shortest to longest brake line (LF, RF, LR, RR). Remember to do the clutch bleed as well if you have manual transmission.

    Is a VCDS Bleed Necessary???

If the ABS unit got air in it (e.g., it was replaced or pulled in air because fluid reservoir got too low), the only way to get all the air out is with the scan tool (VCDS).

    Power Liftgate mod recommendation ?

From what I remember with that one (previous one I actually cut ~8-10cm off of the rubber boot), I pulled the WIRES more tightly inside the hatch so that they traveled a shorter distance, taped them down temporarily so they wouldn't retract, and that made the "accordion" of the rubber boot...

    Power Liftgate mod recommendation ?

Yeah - I added those so that I didn't have metal sitting on metal and wearing away the paint and creating a place for corrosion to get started. If I recall correctly, the kit came with a "sheet" (like maybe 10x5cm(?)) of some rubber-like gasket material that I think was mostly meant to go under...

    Power Liftgate mod recommendation ?

Here are the ball attachments: Near the hinge: And at the bottom of the tailgate: If I recall, one of the ball things they provide is taller than the other (or maybe that was in the first kit I tried(?)).

    Power Liftgate mod recommendation ?

Argh - sorry I missed your post; golfmk7.com is really sporadic with getting notifications to me. Anyway...mine was indeed a little hesitant to fully close when I first installed it, but it was at least very close...and it worked sometimes. Yours is getting nowhere close and seems to be hitting...
