Thanks for your help - actually it turned out to be an actual puncture. A small nail had embedded itself on the inside of the tyre as pressure loss became noticeable. New fronts fitted and tyre pressure gauge reset. All good now.

Hi my Golf is now 8.5 years old (1.4Tsi 122) but I've noticed the ride isn't quite as settled as it used to be. It's done 70k miles so I'm wondering if a change of dampers might help - and if so are there any recommendations as to the type. I favour comfort over firmness Thank you

Hi thanks for suggestion - sadly not and also its ride is a little on the firm side. Perhaps if I was 35 years younger - but back then all I could afford was a 1.0L Mini Metro.

Yes silly of them to do away with the easy to use rotary controls. Now restrictions have eased I'll be able to road test one. I'm not definitely going to get a MK8 as I'm also looking at the new Citroen C4 and Corrolla ( both of which do have rotary controls)

Hi the battery was fine as when the power cane back on there was enough Joyce to powerr the hazards for an hour before the recovery van arrived so it appeared to be charging correctly. The fact that the power came on again after 15 minutes or so points to something else in my opinion..

From the photo below you'll see a s an indentation on the bottom of the rear panel and above scrape mark which goes across the rear panel onto the door. Has anybody gone through VW repair shops and got a decent price or should I risk an independent. Many thanks
