I did a search and nothing came up. So excuse the novice question, but I'm curious as to what the draw of diesel is except for the obvious gas mileage plus. It seems the only downs I can find is that diesel tends to be more expensive nowadays and cars don't accelerate as well. So what's the deal?

I keep seeing people post how much of a bummer it is that the MK7s for the US will be made in Mexico, so I just did a quick search and it seems that there are quite a few cars that are made there and that they are actually doing quite well with them. Are people jumping to conclusions just...
