Default VCDS Coding for 2017 GTI 'Sport' (Power Package/Lighting Package-no fogs)

Old thread! But I’ve started comparing my coding trying to chase down a U111000 code in my module 17. Would love of copy of your baseline/original coding for a Manual 2017 GTI Sport! Thanks! Edit: found a clean scan here https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/8762/

Understanding the MK7 PCV function, retrofitting the MK8 PCV, and why catch cans are bullshit(IMO)

Been reviewing this topic and wanted to dig into the statement from DerHase Has there been any research into the difference between BM (Golf R) vs AP (GTI)? I haven't seen them side by side but maybe a slightly stronger/weaker diaphragm spring go to with the IS38? Assuming it may pull more...

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

He just means Bilstein won’t directly warranty the B16 coils if you’ve used a “non OEM” top hat. Camber plates have been confirmed as “unintended use” by Bilstein. FCP is better than nothing but their warranty would still require you to purchase the coilovers a second time. Even after you...

    APR Roll-Control Coilover Systems!

Great point! I tend to only focus on AutoX and heavy rotation over Track performance. You’re right these cars have a very heavy front end that could justify the heavy front spring. I (personally) would have liked to have seen a higher rear rate to go with a 448lbs/in front spring.

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

R&D for the overall GTS product, not the specific application. Mk7 isn’t exactly a new platform anymore. Final product could be anything. We’ll just have to wait and see what Koni releases them with.

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

I don't think I would go as far to say Koni is going to clone/copy H&R. R&D has been going on for over a year on these. Since its more "Track" focused than their older 1150 Coilover kits, I would expect springs rates to be more in line with a stiffer rear than front. This isn't actually their...

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

Release is getting close (July), detailed images are getting release. Looks like our application will at least include the option for camber plates. They’ll have a tent at hyperfest, so expect some more info to come through.

    APR Roll-Control Coilover Systems!

Spring rates on the Eibach APR coils are 154-250lbs front & 275lbs rear. Not sure where they came up with the spring rates for the new coils. 448 lbs/in front, 280 lbs/in rear is really a step in the wrong direction for anything competitive.

4/10/24 Track Night @ HHR - Stormy attempts a FWD lap record (how will it end?)

Were the S3 springs cut shorter than the stock MK7 springs? Only explanation I can think of

034 Motorsports Audi S3 springs fitted to a Mk7 GTI SE for track use ?

I have the box in storage but here is a photo of the order from Amazon UK. I can take better photos today. I would agree 100% with Eibach the front is a 25-30mm front and 15-20mm rear. When looking at those wheel photos, I’ll point out I run a 235/40 wheel which is a few MM taller than your...

    Visit dealer with jb1 installed

I believe the 2017 GTI only came with a 3 Year/36,000 basic warranty and 5 year/60,000 powertrain warranty. Milage aside, your warranty has been gone for a while. I (personally) don't see how a tune could cause a water pump issue on a car with well documented water pump issues. I imagine you...

    Koni GTS Coilover Discussion

More great news! The GTI Koni GTS coilovers will support a higher minimum drop of 20mm (.78 Inches)! Still no word on spring rates but I think Koni could have a real winner here.

034 Motorsports Audi S3 springs fitted to a Mk7 GTI SE for track use ?

I’m running the GTI Eibach Linear Pro-kit springs with Koni yellows and the drop is very similar to the A3/S3 034 springs. The added caster from the 034 LCA might add a tad more of a drop. Had to artificially brighten up the photos since it is in a dark parking garage. Forgive me

4/10/24 Track Night @ HHR - Stormy attempts a FWD lap record (how will it end?)

Very surprised your OEM GTI ball joints are having issues. I guess VW updated them midway in 2017? No issues with a GTI Sport purchased in April 2017. Updated my LCA/Ball Joint photo above

4/10/24 Track Night @ HHR - Stormy attempts a FWD lap record (how will it end?)

Yup! Stock ball joints in that picture. 034 believes you might run into tie rod issues if you do their LCA and ball joints.

I have these LCA, no issues with stud length on stock ball joints. I assume its just not fully bolted in.
