    Super confused about headlight options

Looks like the purple locking feature is still unlocked. Try to slide it to the side with a flat head screw driver. Left picture is locked, right picture unlocked. The 2 „L“ on the purple piece prevent your connector from sliding in.

    Super confused about headlight options

By the way, that is the height adjuster I was talking about.

    Super confused about headlight options

Condensation is quite normal on these lights. In 2017 I came home with the new car, and my wife immediately noticed how „foggy“ the headlights were. It got better over time, but still was there from time to time. The grill adjustment might be off, however you can adjust the inner height. After...

    Super confused about headlight options

Looks similar to the underside of a Hella factory headlight 2015-2017 to me. Please note, early 2014 NA GTI’s came w/ Valeo headlights. At least in Europe the AFS module was different on Valeo headlights. Please see attached pic w/ comparison of NA headlights (2017 w/ modules) and European...

What did you do to your mk7 today?

Last Monday my passenger Osram headlight started flickering. Low beam would turn off/on/off/on very quickly during driving on a very foggy and cold November day. Of course I couldn’t reproduce it. Wasn’t sure if the whole assembly turns off or just the low beam. Yesterday night eventually it...

Door Control Module swap, now no switches work on driver side even after going back to stock.

By any chance, did you forget to plug the driver door switch connector back in?

2023-2024 MQB Suspension Rundown (street & track setup)

„A well kept secret is to use 2018-2019 Mk7.5 Golf R stock springs.“ Would you mind to share the spring part numbers and/or color codings?

Weird issue with new rear lights

You could try the halogen settings for outer left, just to check if it takes the flickering out.

Weird issue with new rear lights

I might be wrong, but as far as I remember you can't use higher values than 100 if you want to use the same channel dimmed as well. So 10 and 100 on one channel works, 10 and 127 on one doesn't work.

Weird issue with new rear lights

Well flickering sounds familiar on OEM MK7.5 retrofits where the dimming values weren’t correct. Somehow the light electronics has to measure if you’re using the parking lights (8V) or brake lights (12V). (Volt numbers came from seller.) In your current vehicle coding parking lights are dimmed...

    U.S. to Euro spec changes?

You can legally drive a US spec car in Germany if it meets the following criterias: 1. Vehicle must be registered in the US. You better have a front plate as well. If your state doesn't have front plates, make at least a colored copy of the plate and add it to the front. Otherwise you'll get...

Weird issue with new rear lights

To my knowledge no MK7 or MK7.5 came w/ inner tail lights as brake lights from the factory. Only both outer tails function as brake lights. Some folks have coded the inner tails on MK7s to work as brake lights too. The current coding (Leuchte27) of your car doesn't indicate that the MK7 LED...

    U.S. to Euro spec changes?

Was in the same boat in 2019. Used car prices in the US were down, GTI's in Germany fairly expensive, even used. Since my cars were still registered in the US I was able to buy a 1-month liability insurance, payed taxes for 1-month, and then the cars were road legal. That gave me some time for...

    U.S. to Euro spec changes?

You'll need amber turn signals and 1x rear fog light on the driver side in the rear. Correct me if I'm wrong but the '20 SE came with LED headlights and not Halogen headlights, right? The rumor has it that a guy moved from Canada with his '18 GTI and US spec LED headlights to Germany, he got the...

    U.S. to Euro spec changes?

I’ve done it with our ‘14 Beetle R and ‘17 GTI SE. Headlights, tail lights, and tires need to be e-approved, rear fog light necessary. With these mods every TÜV inspector, who can do a 21 inspection, can entitle your vehicle. They will supply the vehicle documentation with emissions as well...

    VCDS Headlight DRL problem

The headlight switch and non-matching coding might be the problem. My Golf has the older BCM (built date summer 2016), so via long coding I can adjust the headlight switch settings. My car came w/ auto lights, front fogs. I replaced the headlight switch with a European switch that has...

    VCDS Headlight DRL problem

Somehow my VCDS dedicated laptop stopped working, it might be just pissed that I haven't used it in years  . Don't quite like the way to extract adaptations w/ OBD11. A couple of years ago I saved the following adaptation maps from my car while it still had factory fitted LP headlights...

OEM sway bars - need help identifying

It still feels like an upgrade to me. Just to be clear here, on easy parts as rear sway bar, rear shocks, rear bump stops, trailing arms, I tend to double check my results by reverting it back to factory or previous iteration. If the result follows the part I keep what I like better. Talking of...
